How long does a flat roof last in Poole?

Flat roofing around Poole: what's different

Inland, flat roofs tend to fail from age or standing water. Close to Poole Harbour, Sandbanks and the cliff-top roads of Canford Cliffs, perimeter failure is just as common: wind gets under an edge trim and starts to peel the covering back. We spend most of the effort on edge fixing, upstand heights and outlets specified in materials that won't corrode within a few years.

GRP fibreglass

Seamless, hard-wearing underfoot and suited to balconies and terraces. It needs a dry window to cure, which we plan for rather than rush.

EPDM rubber

A single sheet over the main area of the roof — a good fit for garages, extensions and dormers, and tolerant of slight deck movement.

Torch-on felt

Modern multi-layer felt is robust and cost-effective on larger areas and communal roofs, and a long way from the single-layer felt it usually replaces.
